Blog Writer and SEO Extraordinaire

Filed under: SEO — Josh @ 1:45 pm

A Blog is kind of like a diary that is posted onto the internet for as many or as few people (your choice) to see. The word Blog contrives from the phrase Web Log and is now a widely used term within computing and also everyday life. The most common thought of blogs is that they are a personal thing, for people to publish onto the internet, a way of airing their thoughts and feelings about anything to the world. However, Blogs are a great Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) method of adding relevant content to a site. The blog gives further depth to the site, gives the site more detailed content and also, when a company blog, is a good way of presenting a face to the business. It is a light hearted and personal way to write content to a site and when a website has relevant content it is favored greatly by the search engines.

But aren’t blogs for just personal sites?

Blog writing for a business website is a fantastically easy way of writing about your products, services and website. If you write about a change to your company, new products or just news, your blog is a good way of giving a personal feel to the website. For a busy company, a blog may seem to be pointless or a chore or a waste of time and resources, but they are very useful and are a simple way of constantly improving the company site with relevant and detailed content.

I’m stuck for blogging ideas!!

A blog does not just have to be fantastically hard or informative; just relevant. Why not write blogs about new deals and special offers. Changes to the office or working hours; just news about the business or company. It is a really inexpensive and personal way of advertising and writing about the company and advertising and informing people of changes and company news.

A large corporate business will most likely have a large, direct and maybe confusing company site, but if they have a blog, that is regularly updated, it gives the site a ‘face’ and the site becomes much more personal and friendly. Blogs are just a quick and easy technique of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), but when done properly and regularly can give fantastic results.
