Five Simple Techniques to First Page Positioning
I thought that in this blog, i’ll give out some of the basic techniques to obtaining first page positions within the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). These tips can have major benefits to site targeted at a niche market and maybe even first page positioning, although if you are not in a niche market you will need a lot more done to a website in order to archive first page positioning, than what is just stated in this blog. So lets get started.
Tip1
Have the correct meta Information The META information that you want to concern yourself with, is primarily centered around the META title, description and keywords. Each page should have its own unique META information, although this is not always possible with large sites. All three META types should contain all of your keywords in a structured manner and should relate to the text on that page. Finally your META description and title, are what is going to appear in the search engine results pages, so try to make them catchy and informative.
Tip2
Content On the web, content is king. Words are quantifiable, they can only have a limited meaning. They are for search engines which use text as a major part of their algorithms. So it is recommended that you provide a reasonable amount of text on you pages. In order to for it to be quantified, this text sould relate to your META keywords.
Tip3
Understand To get a first page position, you have to understand the guidelines of a particular search engine. These are freely accessible and I have seen, on countless times, a lack of understanding of these guidelines, which does so much damage to a site.
Tip4
Sitemaps Sitemaps are like an index of content, which a search engine uses to map your site. If you make it easy for them, by creating a Sitemap, you ranking will benefit.
Tip5
Validation Have your site validate to W3C standards. This will allow the search engine spider to crawl your site much more quickly, as they only spend a limited time on a site. This helps to get more of your pages spidered per visit.
