Paid Linking / Rent Linking Advantages
To begin this article, I am going to stress that there are no long term advantages of rented linking and they will ultimately end up with your site getting banned from Google or suffering some horrendous penalty in the SERP’s, when you get found out. Although, this being said, I personally don’t believe the search engine’s algorithms are up to the job, but the day is coming. Here at position gold we don’t practice or endorse the use of rented linking.
So why do people use rented linking?
In the short term, rented linking might look to some people as the answer. Rented links can have all the qualities of a fantastic link with their price out weighing the time that it would take to go out and find the same link quality naturally or use a SEO company. Rented links tend to pass on good authority as the links that people purchase can be in related fields to their industry, therefore passing good authority. Rented links also have the advantage that you can choose the PageRank of the site where the link is located, for a price, therefore giving you some idea of how much PageRank they will pass onto your site. The only downside that people without knowledge of the industry can normally see is the fact that they have to renew these links every year, but as I have explained above this is not the case. The use of rented links with good authority and PageRank will allow your site to temporarily increase within the search engine listings and will probably hammer your competition, all except the one also using rented linking or a search engine optimisation company. This being said, the long term effect are too grievous to mention again. A lot of people see rented linking as a quick fix but they should take heed if it looks to good to be true, it often is and this is the case with rented links.
Are paid Directories rented links?
Paid directories are not considered rent linking, especially if you have to go though a human review process to be accepted. A good example of this is the Yahoo! directory. This being said, Google has said that it is reducing the value of links from paid directories, although I can’t see this happening on directories which have human review processes to be accepted as these sites are getting the links on merit.
Final Note
Don’t Use Rented Linking! Getting your site banned will destroy it and from a SEO point of view, it is a long hard slog just to get you back to where you were, before you started using rented linking let alone above that position.
